The Birks of Aberfeldy is the faerie glen of Highland Perthshire. A magical spot full of waterfalls and an incredible number of species of mosses, ferns, lichens and trees. So many species in fact, that it is classified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The Birks were made famous in the 1780’s by Robert Burns who was inspired to write a song of the same name whist sitting on a natural stone bench half way up towards the top bridge.
