There are some beautiful hills in the surrounding area to enjoy the views from. One of the best-loved mountains is Schiehallion, an iconic conical shape standing isolated so you can see it for miles around. The name translates to The Fairy Hill of the Caledonians, which sounds almost as beautiful as the gaelic name.
For stunning scenery and a glimpse into Scotland's turbulent history, visit the Pass of Killiecrankie, which has some lovely walks through the glen, reputedly haunted! Queen's View, a few miles away, will take your breath away with one of the most famous views in Scotland, across Loch Tummel to Schiehallion. It is thought to commemorate Queen Isabella, wife of Robert the Bruce who ruled Scotland between 1306 and 1329, and not Queen Victoria as generally believed.
